Cerebellar Blood Flow in Ischemic Stroke Studied by Xenon 133 Inhalation and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography

  • Chapter
Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Measurement

Abstract

A parallel reduction of cerebral blood flow and oxygen uptake in the cerebellar hemisphere contralateral to the side of supratentorial ischemic infarction has recently been reported using positron emission tomography (Baron et al. 1980; Lenzi etal. 1982). This phenomenon was termed “crossed cerebellar diaschisis.”
