Abstract
Clinical neuropsychology (CN) is considered useful to the neurologist insofar as it can supply information on the plurisectorial cognitive incompetence which lends the mean characteristic to organic mental deterioration (OMD), i.e., dementia (D). The general aim of this paper is twofold: to discuss the diagnostic utility of studying OMD neuropsychological, and to scrutinize which research goals may most appropriately be tackled using this approach.
