Abstract
Increases in anomic symptoms of various forms were witnessed in advanced societies prior to the oil crises of the 1970’s. In the post-oil-crises period the contemporary world is facing its most crucial test since the end of World War II. Technology transfer and the mobility of capital and enterprise have been promoting rapid industrialization of less-developed countries. Industrial adjustment between Japan and Western countries has been at issue since the beginning of the 1960’s. However, the advent of newly industrializing countries has been further aggravating the problem since the early 1970’s.
