Die Notwendigkeit zur Beurteilung der Myokardfunktion hat über die letzten 20 Jahre vielseitige Anstrengungen induziert und zur Schaffung verschiedener Indizes geführt, welche die quantitative Beschreibung der Pumpfunktion des Herzens ermöglichen sollten [1].
