Abstract
The supertypic specificity DR1 + 2 + w6 (later called DQwl = DC1 = MB1 = MT1 = LB12), was discovered at the Seventh Workshop [1]. This specificity was shown to reside on a subset of class II molecules called the DC subset [2], differing from the DR subset for both the alpha and the beta subunits [3, 4]. DQw1 has been shown more recently to be associated also with DRw10.
