Echocardiography in the Coronary Care Unit
Echocardiography allows direct investigation of size and wall motion of the heart chambers, as well as left ventricular wall thickness and valve motion. In addition abnormal structures inside the heart can be visualized such as thrombus, myxoma and vegetations in patients with endocarditis.
