Klinefelter’s Syndrome: Diagnostic Criteria in Childhood

  • Conference paper
Klinefelter’s Syndrome

Abstract

All over the world the chromatin-positive Klinefelter’s syndrome (karyotype 47 XXY) is not usually diagnosed during childhood. There are two possible explanations for this:

  1. 1.

Pediatricians are not sufficiently qualified to make the diagnosis.

  2. 2.

During childhood, boys with Klinefelter’s syndrome are often asymptomatic and may not be seen by pediatricians.
