Abstract
SAS (Statistical Analysis System) is an all-purpose data analysis system and a flexible applications development language. SAS/OR as the latest product of SAS Institute was written to provide a series of tools to meet the needs of operations research and project management. User-friendly procedures can be applied to solve the following standard problems:

Linear programming by means of the two-phase revised simplex method. Reports on solution sensitivity to changes in equation constraints and price coefficients can also be obtained. A special feature is an MPSX conversion aid.

Project management through critical path analysis. Solutions can be shown on calenders or as GANTT charts. If there is uncertainty about durations, program evaluation review techniques can be accomplished.

Network problems like the minimum cost flow in a network,the classical transportation problem, and optimal cost assignment.
