Zusammenfassung
Das letzte Jahrzehnt brachte wesentliche Fortschritte in der Diagnostik kolorektaler Erkrankungen. Der Einsatz dieser modernen diagnostischen Möglichkeiten und ihr Heranreifen zu Routinemethoden werden auch durch das Ansteigen koloskopischer Untersuchungen dokumentiert (Abb. 1). Als Konsequenz ergab sich vor etwa 5 Jahren an unserem Krankengut, daß kolorektale Karzinome in früheren Stadien zur Behandlung gelangen [10] Es war zu prüfen, ob sich dies auch längerfristig bestätigte und ob die verbesserten Diagnoseverfahren jetzt auch den Patienten außerhalb einer großen, spezialisierten Klinik zugute kamen.
