Abstract

A prediction of future developments in polymer degradation and stabilization can be approached by consideration of those areas wherein a deficiency in basic knowledge and/or stabilizer development is perceived. There are some areas in which only a steady development in new products should be expected. In other areas where application of polymers has and continues to be restricted by the inability to assure an adequate useful life, major breakthroughs should be expected.
