Abstract

Since introduction of ß-adrenergic antagonists, there has been a burst of research works on the mechanism of their hypotensive effects, and the effectiveness of these drugs for the treatment of glaucoma is now well established. Not only the knowledge of the mechanism of their action, but also of pharmacokinetics is of value for designing logical therapeutic regimen. Therefore, the recent findings on the latter aspects of the ß-adrenergic drugs are summarized in this paper.
