Abstract
In addition to the attempt to contrast some of the stressors1 and stress-coping processes of “primitive” ethnic groups living under Stone Age conditions with these of the modern Western world, in this chapter I should like to draw attention to the responsibility of the west toward the traditional societies, especially with regard to the major absence of stress in their lives in their natural environment.
