Abstract
The age of automation has come to viral diagnosis. A totally automated system is now available for viral antibody determinations and semi-automated methods or components are being used by many laboratories for both antibody and antigen detection. The present paper reviews some of the new methods which are now in use and considers approaches which are under development.
