Abstract
Propafenone belongs to class 1 in Vaughan-William’s classification of antiarrhythmic drugs. Several prior studies indicate that propafenone (P) is effective in suppressing chronic supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias. The drug can be administered both intravenously and orally. The object of the following study was to determine the efficacy of P in treating severe ventricular arrhythmias and to compare the effects of intravenous and oral administration.
