Zusammenfassung
Die Prognose des malignen Melanoms wird in abnehmender Rangfolge durch die folgenden Faktoren beeinflußt: Klinisches Stadium (TNM), Tumordicke [3], histologische Eindringtiefe [17], Geschlecht, Melanomtyp, Lokalisation des Primärtumors und Alter des Patienten zum Zeitpunkt der Diagnose bzw. bei Therapiebeginn. Die deutlich schlechtere Prognose des nodulären Melanoms (NM) gegenüber dem oberflächlich spreitenden (SSM) und Lentigo-maligna-Melanom (LMM) rührt daher, daß jenes frühzeitig endo- und exophytisch senkrecht zur Hautoberfläche wächst, während die anderen über lange Zeit, oft Monate oder Jahre, ein horizontal gerichtetes, oberflächliches Wachstum zeigen.
