Surgical Treatment of Acute Necrotizing Hemorrhagic Pancreatitis: A Series of 46 Cases
From August 1976 to Juni 1981, 46 patients (26 males, 20 females) were operated upon for acute necrotizing hemorrhagic pancreatitis (ANHP). The etiology of the disease was alcoholic in 16 patients, gallstones in 20, postoperative in two and idiopathic in eight. Twenty-one patients were referred to us from another institution, eight having already undergone a first operation.
