Peritoneal Lavage in Acute Pancreatitis

Peritoneal lavage has been employed in the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy of acute pancreatitis. The purpose of this paper is to review the application of peritoneal lavage and to present a summary of our experimental work on the nature of pancreatic ascites.
