Abstract

Pancreatic(triacylglycerol acyl-hydrolase) lipase (EC 3.1.1.3) splits triglycerides into mono-glycerides and fatty acids. This enzyme exhibits a very strong specificity of position. The main pathway of lipolysis is:

Triglycerides → 1-, 2-diglycerides→ 2-monoglycerides
