Uranium Occurrences of Bavaria, Germany (With Emphasis on the Bavarian Pfahl of the Altrandsberg District)

Abstract

During surface prospection work carried out systematically and remapping of the area of the Bavarian Pfahl — especially in the region of Altrandsberg, Bayerischer Wald — secondary uranium mineralizations were found near the surface. These were investigated at depth by drilling. A sulphide pitchblende-coffinite mineralization in veinlets up to several mm thickness was found in drillholes in the Pfahl shales at the feather joint endings. First investigation results are presented in this study.
