Zusammenfassung
Zweifellos bedeutet die Feststellung eines erhöhten Blutdrucks weder eine diagnostische Schwierigkeit noch einen kostspieligen Aufwand. Bei einer Häufigkeit von 15–20% der Gesamtbevölkerung stellt die arterielle Hypertonie zudem keineswegs eine Seltenheit dar, und für die in unserer Bevölkerung dominierenden kardiovaskulären Erkrankungen ist der Bluthochdruck ein Risikofaktor erster Ordnung [6, 7].
