Abstract
Polypeptide-lipid interactions are of great importance for many processes controlling the state of biological membranes. Several methods, most of them spectroscopic, using liposomes or micelles as model membranes, are available for studying these interactions. This experiment uses a new approach, applicable to planar lipid bilayers, which allows the determination of binding by monitoring the change of electrostatic surface potentials at the membrane-solution interface (Schoch et al. 1979).
