Abstract
There are no regular or semiregular polyhedra available for seven-coordination, and the starting point therefore is a consideration of the planar heptagon, three non-uniform polyhedra, the pentagonal bipyramid, capped trigonal prism, and end-capped trigonal prism (Sect. 2.A.3), and two chemical coordination polyhedra, the capped octahedron and hexagonal pyramid (Sect. 2.B.3).
