Abstract
Creatine kinase activity in the central nervous system is relatively high, amounting up to 200 U/g fresh tissue. This activity is almost entirely due to the CK-BB isoenzyme (for details see Chap. 12). It could be expected therefore, that measurable CK-BB activity would be present in the blood of patients with cerebral diseases.
