Adaptation of the Colon Following Resection of the Small Intestine in Rats

Zusammenfassung

Während Adaptationsvorgänge am Dünndarm nach partieller Resektion bereits ausgiebig bearbeitet wurden, ist über entsprechende Prozesse am Colon bisher wenig bekannt (2). Grundsätzlich bestehen zwei Möglichkeiten der Anpassung, nämlich durch Vermehrung der Zellmasse oder durch Funktionssteigerung der verbliebenen Einzelzellen. Im Dünndarm erfolgt die Adaptation überwiegend auf der Ebene der Zellhyperplasie, wobei die Funktion unverändert oder infolge nicht ganz kompletter Ausreifung sogar vermindert ist.
