Abstract
Various nonmarine to paralic blue-green algal deposits including oncolites and stromatolites have been described from France (Bertrand-Sarfati 1966; Donsimoni and Giot 1977; Freytet 1965; Freytet and Plaziat 1972; Gigot and Rioult 1972;Mouline 1966; Plaziat 1966), Germany (Reis 1923; Rutte 1953, 1954a,b), Spain (Colom 1961; Colom et al. 1973; Ordonez and Garcia del Cura 1977; Williams 1975) etc. In many cases, these deposits show a range of microstructures which can be compared with recent ones.
