Zusammenfassung

Dem akuten Extremitätenarterienverschluß liegt nach Fogarty et al. (1971) zumeist eine arterielle Embolie (Tabelle 1.1) zugrunde. Verschleppt werden die Gerinnsel aus dem linken Herzen (Vitien, Herzinfarkt/Herzwandaneurysma, Endokarditis) oder aus atheromatös und/oder aneurysmatisch veränderten großen Gefäßen (Aorta, Beckenarterien). Die Embolisation aus einer Lungenvene, etwa bei entzündlicher Lungenerkrankung (Haimovici) ist selten. Manchmal bleibt auch der Embolusstreuherd unklar.
