Abstract

ETHERINGTON (1978) presented in a factor-by-factor approach a new textbook on plant physiological ecology, while SMITH (1977) summarized elements of ecology and field biology. DAJOZ’s (1977) Introduction to Ecology has only few chapters with reference to vegetation. The book of DE SANTO (1978) on Concepts of Applied Ecology reflects primarily the objectives of a pragmatic ecologist as well as the real-life problems of dealing with engineers, economists, and politicians.
