Abstract
Salmon production in Spain has been increasing during the past years. Geographical areas for these cultures are located in estuaries rich in phytoplankton and Zooplankton in North Spain. Most of the pathological problems are related to diseases already found in other countries. Among them vibriosis and kidney disease stand out (ACUIGRUP, 1977). Special location conditions under which these cultures are established, as well as the latitude allow certain diseases to occur in a special environment. These diseases interact with the classical ones and little attention has been given to them. One of these diseases is flavobacteriosis: it is produced by a germ whose classification is not yet well known (Bergey’s Manual, 1974; Robert, 1978) and it is scarcely mentioned in the world literature.
