  • Conference paper
  • 58 Accesses

Abstract

Since the first description of mast cells by Ehrlich [7] numerous efforts have been undertaken in order to clarify the nature and origin of these cells. In the first part of this paper, some data on the morphology and cytochemistry of tissue mast cells will be presented. In the second part our current knowledge regarding the origin of mast cells will be outlined and discussed.
