Zusammenfassung

Das System der disseminierten (diffusen) endokrinen Zellen des Körpers besteht im Gegensatz zu den klassischen endokrinen Drüsen aus verstreut liegenden Einzelzellen oder Zellgruppen. Diese besiedeln in sehr unterschiedlicher Dichte den Bronchial- und Gastrointestinaltrakt, kommen in sehr spezialisierter Form im Pankreas vor und finden sich auch gelegentlich im Urogenitaltrakt.
