Zusammenfassung

Die Nebennieren liegen den oberen Nierenpolen medial und ventral wie „phrygische Mützen“ (Bachmann 1954) auf. Die rechte Nebenniere gleicht einer abgeplatteten Pyramide, liegt unmittelbar lateral und dorsal der Vena cava inferior und mit der Vorderfläche der Leber an. Die linke Nebenniere ist sichel-oder halbmondförmig. Das umhüllende Fettgewebe ist — in Abhängigkeit von der Gesamtmenge des Fettgewebes — sehr variabel entwickelt. Ein peritonealer Überzug ist an der rechten Nebenniere höchstens in ihrem kaudalen Teil vorhanden und wird erst nach Ablösung der Leber sichtbar, während nach Eröffnung des Netzbeutels die seröse Überkleidung der linken Nebenniere fast in ganzer Ausdehnung erkennbar wird (Pernkopf 1943).
