Abstract
Experience with the method in D.U. rests upon the cases shown in Table 15. In a former retrospective study of940 cases observed for up to nine years we had good functional results with a low incidence of side effects (Table 16). In this study the rate of endoscopic checks of the patients was low. A new follow-up study was performed between July 1978 and May 1979. To get a high rate of patients to clinical control (80%) it was only possible to start with the follow-up period in 1972 (Fig. 81). All patients with complaints were checked endoscopically.
