Abstract

The issue of national economy modeling by means of the econometric models has been raised in Poland during the period of early sixties1). Well over ten years of experience in this field is marked by a remarkably high number of published and unpublished studies, papers and books. The aim of this paper is to present a concise review of the work done and to cite few examples of recent models for Poland. The presentation will be preceded by some remarks on the justification of econometric macromodels for planned economies and will be followed by the information on micro-scale econometric modeling and on current research in econometric theory in Poland.
