Growth of Fluctuations in Thermodynamically Unstable Systems

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Synergetics ((SSSYN,volume 5))

Abstract

Some statistical models are described that have been used to study growth of fluctuations in thermodynamically unstable systems. On the bases of these models we discuss the growth of fluctuations for the cases where the order parameter is not conserved and where it is conserved (spinodal decompositions). Some relevent experiments and computer simulation works are also briefly discussed.
