Predilection of Cerebral Atherosclerotic Stenosis: a Morphologic and Radiologic Demonstration

  • Conference paper
Brain and Heart Infarct II

Abstract

It has been known for a long time that cerebral atherosclerosis shows local predilections. This has been demonstrated in schematic drawings, for instance, by the World Federation of Neurology (7) on the basis of which it has directed corresponding world-wide research programs on the epidemiology of cerebrovascular disease (2, 6). We have made similar studies in our institute by measuring the lumina of the arterial stenoses (1, 9; Figs. 10–14).
