Abstract

This paper reviews recent work in our laboratory in which tunable UV and IR lasers, as well as fixed frequency IR lasers, have been used to excite molecules to specific vibrational levels for studies of their kinetics. The primary objective in these experiments has been to establish accurate rate constants for reactive and inelastic processes in systems where ‘chemical forces’ are likely to influence the collision dynamics.
