Abstract

Various forms of undigested food such as peelings from fruits, vegetables, salads, fruit kernels, etc. can be seen during rectoscopy. Foreign bodies that have been swallowed can traverse the entire gastrointestinal tract and become lodged at the internal anal sphincter. They can be then removed with the rectoscope.
