Abstract

In the experiments reported in Chap. 4, subjects had to judge whether two word are same or different with respect to a prespecified category, to be called the target category. Different experimental conditions are defined by the different combinations of the words, as will be explained in this chapter. The material in the experiments consisted of categories and exemplars. The present chapter deals with the selection of the categories and the exemplars.
