Abstract

The morphology and development of the taste buds in the barbels of the bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus Lesueur) were investigated using light microscopical, electron microscopical and histochemical techniques. Taste bud development was also studied during the regeneration of the barbels. Consequently also the morphology and regeneration of the barbels was investigated.
