Zusammenfassung
Zunächst seien einige Vorbemerkungen gestattet:

Die vorgetragenen Untersuchungen sind zum größten Teil älteren Datums und bereits an verschiedenen Stellen publiziert worden. Diese Publikationen sind zum Teil schwer zucräncrlich (16,17,31,22,33).

Die Darstellung bezieht sich fast ausschließlich auf eigene Untersuchungen bzw. die anderer befreundeter Wissenschaftler, mit denen eine langjährige Zusammenarbeit erfolgte.

Der überwiegende Teil der Ergebnisse wurde aus Kurzzeitinfusionen von Fettemulsionen bzw. Glyzerinlösungen ermittelt, um den Probanden, meist Frühgeborenen und hypotrophen Kindern, keine möglicherweise auftretenden Schäden zuzufügen. Zwar waren schon von schwedischen Arbeitsgruppen Untersuchungen bei Neugeborenen mit Fettemulsionen vorgenommen worden, doch sollte daraus allein nicht die Berechtigung abgeleitet werden, lang dauernde Infusionsversuche bei Kindern ohne strengste Indikation durchzuführen.

Die Ergebnisse aus Versuchen über parenterale Ernährung mit Triglyzeriden sollten nicht isoliert betrachtet werden, sondern im Zusammenhang mit Versuchen über den Umsatz von Kohlenhydraten und Aminosäuren, wozu auch Bilanzuntersuchungen erforderlich sind. Die eigenen Bilanzversuche, die hier mitgeteilt werden, sind noch nicht abgeschlossen. Sie werden an anderer Stelle ausführlich publiziert.
