Abstract

The subject of inhibitors was covered not long ago by two review articles (Izawa and Good, 1972; Good and Izawa, 1973). However, large portions of these previous articles have becomes outdated, missing most of the important inhibitors introduced in the early 1970s, such as the plastoquinone antagonist dibromothymoquinone (DBMIB) and inhibitors of plastocyanin. Some of the indispensable roles which these new inhibitors played in the recent development of electron transport and photophosphorylation studies have been discussed by Trebst (1974).
