Zusammenfassung

Das klinische Bild der Leukämie mit ihren typischen Beschwerden und Symptomen wie Abgeschlagenheit, Blässe, Hämorrhagien mit Nasenbluten, Fieber, Vergrößerung der peripheren Lymphknoten, Splenomegalie und anderen war bereits seit HIPPOKRATES bekannt. Darauf weisen zahlreiche medizinische Berichte hin. Als eigenständiges Krankheitsbild wurde die Leukämie aber erst in den Jahren 1839 – 1845 erkannt, als die Registrierung von Befunden und autoptischen Studien durch die mikroskopische Untersuchung des Blutes ergänzt werden konnte.
