Cardiac Pacing

Abstract

Recurrent reentry tachycardias (junctional, ventricular, reciprocal WPW tachycardias) can be reduced by selective stimulations [1, 4, 7, 10, 25]. In some drug-resistant tachycardias, surgery is efficient [8, 10, 21]. In other cases, surgery is technically impossible because the reentry pathway is located in a dangerous region. In all these rare cases, implantation of a special pacemaker can be considered [3, 9, 24].
