Zusammenfassung

Als Bestandteil des Gastrointestinaltraktes unterliegt der Oesophagus — besonders seine Verschlußsysteme — den Steuerungsmechanismen und Einflüssen des gesamten Magendarmtraktes. Es ist daher vorstellbar, daß Erkrankungen im Bereich des Magendarmtraktes direkt über eine gemeinsame Krankheitsursache oder indirekt als Folge bereits abgelaufener pathologischer Veränderungen Einfluß auf die Funktion des Oesophagus und seines distalen Verschlußsegmentes nehmen. In der Literatur werden derartige Zusammenhänge zwar immer wieder diskutiert, verwertbare Untersuchungen sind aber bislang nur in geringer Zahl veröffentlicht worden.
