Abstract

Recently in Japan there have been several papers published concerning the mechanism of action of nifedipine in animal experiments [7, 8] and its efficacy in angina pectoris in clinical studies [11]. Kimura et al. [10] studied its efficacy in treating angina pectoris by sequential analysis (Armitage); they concluded that it was almost as effective as isosorbide dinitrate and propranolol.
