Abstract

As can be seen from Table 3, the results of the earlier experiments were confirmed. These indicate (139) that the Phosphorylase reaction in the sections will be inhibited if the aqueous incubation is performed in the presence of 2,4-D at a concentration of 14 mM (Sa in Table 3). The same applies to the Phosphorylase reaction in the gelatan films into which 2,4-D has been incorporated (Gg). In striking contrast to this, no apparent decrease ofPhosphorylase activity can be observed in the corresponding sections(Sg). As shown in the earlier experiments with aqueous incubation (139), the activity of glycogen synthetase does not, in fact, change in the presence of 2,4-D in the gelatin film.
