CSF Dynamics: A Mathematical Approach

  • Conference paper
Book cover Intracranial Pressure II

Abstract

ICP as a physical parameter, is the expression of a physical phenomenon, taking into account the peculiar conditions inside the skull. ICP depends on several factors (elasticity of the vascular bed, CSF flow, sagittal sinus venous pressure (SSVP), vasomotor tone), which act together and cannot be isolated. Since 1969 (1,2) we have tried to study the above factors in a synthetic way and to elaborate a mathematical model for CSF dynamics.
