Zusammenfassung
Die Behandlung inoperabler und/oder disseminierter Weichteilsarkome gehörte bisher nicht zur Erfolgsdomäne der modernen internistischen Tumortherapie. Ungeachtet der Schwierigkeiten der histologischen Klassifikation dieser heterogenen Gruppe von Malignomen des Stützgewebes sind die meisten davon weitgehend resistent auf die üblichen Cytostatica. und insbesondere auch auf die Behandlung mit ionisierenden Strahlen. Ausnahmen machen lediglich das sowohl sehr strahlen- wie auch chemotherapiesensible Ewing-Sarkom, einzelne undifferenzierte Sarkome und bis zu einem gewissen Grad die embryonalen Rhabdomyosarkome.
