Zusammenfassung

Das Bronchialkarzinom (BrK) hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten in allen sogenannten zivilisierten Ländern beträchtlich an Häufigkeit zugenommen und steht derzeit beim männlichen Geschlecht unter allen bösartigen Neubildungen an erster Stelle. Eine befriedigende Erklärung für diese Tatsache gibt es nicht, nur zahlreiche Hinweise auf kausale Zusammenhänge zwischen kanzerogenen Noxen, von denen einige Hundert bekannt sind, und dem Auftreten eines Bronchialkarzinoms.
