Zusammenfassung

Infolge der zunehmenden Ausweitung der Vegetationskunde in räumlicher Hinsicht (z. B. durch vermehrte Untersuchungen in tropischen Ländern) und in den Problemstellungen (z. B. durch Arbeiten über gegenseitige Beeinflussung der Arten in Pflanzengesellschaften) ist es hier nicht mehr möglich, einen annähernd vollständigen Überblick zu geben. Es seien nur einige neuere Tendenzen hervorgehoben. Wie bereits in den letzten Berichten werden in jedem Band andere Gebiete der Vegetationskunde besondere Berücksichtigung finden, damit im Verlauf der Jahre alle Teilbereiche behandelt werden können.
